Polished wood and polished service, on the ground floor of the Hotel The waiters guided our fledgling steps in Polish cuisine, although not all of our party took the plunge. But some of us enjoyed our first tastes of meat dumplings - pierogi - served with sauce or soup (beetroot [Borsch] or sour rye [Suker]), and fresh-pressed lemonade which was most welcome in the heat of the day we visited. The food was very tasty, although later I came to appreciate fried pierogi more than boiled. The staff were very helpful and had sufficient English to make non-Polish speakers feel comfortable. They kindly squeezed us in one lunchtime although they had several large and very smartly dressed0 parties coming - we were somewhat casually attired!! Aug 2018
